Norwich Car Wash Opens in 1967

Mary and Frank Farkas began their journey in the car wash industry in 1967 when they opened a self serve car wash called Norwich Car Wash. Their son Fred soon took an interest in the family business. In 1982 Fred began Power Pressure Systems as a part time business on evening and weekends when he was not busy with his full time job as a Mill Wright.

A Modern Day Carwash with Detail Center

As Fred's knowledge, experience, and customer relations grew, he was able to make Power Pressure Systems a full time business venture. In 1985, the once infamous red car wash was renovated into a new modern 4 Bay car wash. The renovation included a new self serve detail center with a carpet shampooer, vacuum, and vendors.

In the early 1990's Fred's wife Veronica Farkas became part of the business.

2000: A Brand New Building

Fred and Veronica demolished the old carwash in 2000 and in its place built a brand new 4 Bay carwash with an additional Truck Bay and Automatic carwash. New vacuum and vending islands were added as well. They also opened a new business, Bubbles Laundromat, in the same building as the carwash.

2004 to 2018:

In 2004 Fred moved from his small repair shop behind his house to a building on Palmer Street. By 2008 he had doubled his inventory and moved into a larger building at the Palmer Street location. In 2015 we hired a full time technician to be out on the road servicing car washes and industrial pressure washers.

2018 to Present

Now in 2018 we have doubled our space again by moving to our new location on Airport Road. In addition to the repair shop, the new location includes a store front where we hope to be able to supply consumers with affordable reliable pressure washer options.
